Research

Transinsight collaborates closely with the bioinformatics group of TU Dresden.
The group has a comprehensive research programme funded with over 4.7 Million € dedicated to ontologies and textmining.

It covers the following topics:

  • design and evolution of bio-ontologies,
  • textmining to extract protein interactions and ontology terms in texts,
  • grid computing for bioinformatics,
  • analysis of high-throughput micro-array and RNAi data,
  • biomedical applications in particular cell-cycle and pancreas tumor, endocytosis and infectious diseases, osteoclast differentiation and bone diseases as well as membrane proteins. A list of all publications
  • life cell imaging and motion tracking (Kalaimoscope) in collaboration with the (MPI-CBG)
